My friend and I have just had a discussion about 3 alternative treatments that can be used for colds and flu (and something about term life insurance rates by age), as well as a number of other viral diseases. We wanted to come up with things that are supposed to work, but do not involve the use of over the counter medication from the chemist. A lot of the manufactured drugs have many side effects, so it is best to keep things as natural as possible.
The first treatment we decided on was to use freshly squeezed lemon in hot water, with added sugar, and a little brandy. This is an old remedy used by my ancestors, and although it is not a total cure, it will offer some relief, which is all the chemist medication can do. The second one we agreed on was to relax in a very hot and steaming bath with added menthol oil. The water vapor helps clear the nose, while the heat relaxes the muscles. The last alternative treatment is to exercise, which has been shown to boost the immune system, which helps to fight the virus. These treatments will all offer some relief.
